After getting his degree in Cartoon & Animation in 2002, Oktar started his career at McCann Erickson Istanbul as an art director. In 2008, he worked at McCann Erickson Singapore as a senior art director before returning back to McCann Erickson Istanbul, as the Creative Director. He then moved to JWT Istanbul as the Executive Creative Director. Stayed there for about a year and joined Leo Burnett Istanbul as the Creative Director in 2011.

Throughout his career, he has awards in many festivals including Epica, Effie, Eurobest, Golden Drum, Adfest, Crystal Apple Turkey with his teammates. He was also a jury member in New York Festivals, Golden Hammer Latvia, Crystal Apple Turkey and Cristal Festival Montrouge.
