Axel Eckstein studied geography and visual communication in Germany. Before he started his advertising career as Junior Art Director at BBDO Düsseldorf in 1995, he did internships in ad agencies in Germany, the UK and the Netherlands. Thereafter in 1998 he joined Jung von Matt in Frankfurt/Main as Art Director. In 2002 he moved to Switzerland to work for Jung von Matt Zurich. Since 2007 Axel Eckstein is Creative Director and Member of the Executive Board at Euro RSCG Zurich.

Among his accolade he has an Eurobest Grand Prix and a Cannes Lion in bronze and more than 250 other national and international creative awards. In 2005 he was admitted to the Art Directors Clubs of Switzerland and Germany.
